Give the Gift of Home for the Holidays
Imagine being far from home with your sick child during the holidays. Ronald McDonald House Charities of Oregon and Southwest Washington (RMHC) provides a "home away from home" for families and their seriously ill children who travel far to receive treatment at Portland hospitals. You can help the families staying at one of Portland's two Ronald McDonald Houses by raising money to support RMHC. Provide comfort--give the gift of home.
A gift of $100 can:
- Help families relax by providing one month of cable TV service
- Pay for 6 months delivery of the daily newspaper
- Fund the annual permit and inspection fee for one elevator
- Cover all expenses for a family's one-night stay
A gift of $250 can:
- Help keep families connected to their friends and loved ones by maintaining the house computers
- Pay the monthly water bill
- Help keep the house in tip-top condition by funding a handyman for one month
A gift of $500 can:
- Keep the kitchen stoves working by funding the monthly gas bill
- Pay for gas and registration on our van, so our volunteer driver can transport families to the grocery store
- Cover all expenses for a family's five night stay
A gift of $1,000 can:
- Help keep the house clean by funding the monthly cleaning service
- Keep the lights on, by funding 2 months of electric service
- Make sure our heating and ventilation system runs efficiently by funding quarterly maintenance
A gift of $2,500 can:
- Make the outside of the house welcoming by funding basic landscaping for a year
- Provide washers and dryers, making it convenient for families to do their laundry
- Cover all expenses for a family's one-month stay

- Pay a significant portion of the annual phone bill

- Cover all expenses of a family's two-month stay
