Leon McLaughlin and his colleagues founded the Clean Water Foundation on September 12, 2008. Because of Leon’s inspiration, more children around the world will receive the essential clean water they need.
In his travels, a Mexican woman told Leon about a visiting American tourist who asked to use her bathroom. While the tourist was in there, he thought he did her a favor by draining her bathtub of its water. The woman was brought to tears when the tourist told her what he had done. The clean bathtub water was her amount for the entire month.
From that point, Leon knew his mission: to bring clean water to the world’s poor, especially children.
Through his own fundraising efforts and partnering with Seattle-based development agency World Vision and Oklahoma-based charity Openhearted, Leon recently visited the first destination for his water purification equipment: Bolivia.
Since his early-December visit to Bolivia, Leon asks you to consider providing children and families in the developing world with a resource that so many of us take for granted: clean water.
Today, the pilot project in Bolivia aims to donate and install 20 water filtration units that will bring clean water to thousands of children in schools, orphanages, and the community. In order to provide this, Leon’s goal is $435,000.
Please consider supporting the Clean Water Foundation and giving the gift of life: clean water.
