It is that time of year again! Time to celebrate Down Syndrome Awareness month which happens every October. As part of our celebration, Guy and I work hard in helping plan the Triangle Down Syndrome Network's annual fundraising event, the Buddy Walk.
As most of you know, Guy and I have been very involved with the Triangle Down Syndrome Network since Brooke was born. This organization has meant the world to us, and to the success of our daughter, Brooke. The TDSN strives to support families of children with DS , as well as ensure that all people with Down Syndrome have the opportunity to live happy and productive lives. We have been able to develop many resources over the years that have helped so many families (including ours) and children with DS. Currently, one of our bigger projects in which we are trying to raise funds, is the development of an independent living community for adults with DS. We all strive to help our children eventually reach the goals of living happily, productively, and independently in the community. An established community designed to help our population with DS can make reaching these goals a reality for us and our children . We are so excited about this concept and plan to work hard over the next years to make this concept a possibility for our daughter and many of her friends.
Please consider supporting the Traingle Down Syndrome Network and our plans and goals to help our children live happy and productive lives. See below how you can donate to the cause, and/ or please go to www.triangledownsyndrome.org to register to walk with our team, "Brooke's Buds". Just follow the links to "register with a team" and find, "Brooke's Buds".
Thank you for your support,
Guy and Donna Harvey
