I (Rebekah) have two little boys. I had access to prenatal vitamins when I was pregnant. I gave birth in a clean hospital. And my babies visit pediatricians and received a vaccine for measles.

That's not true for millions of women and babies worldwide.

Karen adopted a little girl from Ethiopia in 2009. She was malnourished at birth, but good people found her and cared for her.

On July 3, 2010, we will be running the Bluegrass 10K in Lexington, Kentucky to raise money for Compassion International's Child Survival Program. This program helps developing world mothers and babies in their most vulnerable times, offering practical care and extending God’s love by meeting their most basic needs for prenatal nourishment, providing a birth attendant and medical supplies for birth in a clean, safe environment, and fighting the "Big 6 Baby Killers" — diarrhea, pneumonia, malaria, measles, HIV/AIDS, and malnutrition — killers that are preventable or treatable.

Kristi and Karen have long sponsored Compassion International children and have personally experienced the integrity and fiscal responsibility of the organization. In 2009, Compassion Internationl was ranked fourth in the Elite List of the 10 Most Fiscally Responsible Charities. Of the 5,500 charities rated by Charity Navigator, less than 50 have earned eight consecutive four-star ratings, and Compassion International is one of them.
