My personal message:

Dear Friends and Community Partners:

California based Talk About Curing Autism (TACA) was founded in 2000 with the goal of providing information and connections to improve the quality of life for people with autism and their families. For families who have just received the autism diagnosis, TACA aims to speed up the cycle time that moves them from the diagnosis to the appropriate information that will lead to effective treatments and support.

For all families, TACA builds the autism community by connecting people with each other and the professionals who can help them, allowing them to share stories and information that will help people with autism be the best that they can be.

TACA provides immediate and low or no-cost information and education to families who are receiving this diagnosis through mentors, free meetings and online resources. No membership fees are assessed on the families - who are already weathering extensive costs inflicted by autism - who participate in TACA. TACA is a registered not-for-profit 501c3 organization.

Washington State was selected as home to one of TACA's first new chapters and I am proud to have been selected to serve as one of the co-chairs for the new chapter.  TACA does not charge admission to our monthly meetings at Bates Technical College in Tacoma, nor does it assess annual membership fees for families it supports. Meetings feature:

                      1. Free TACA Journey Guides - more than 300 pages of collective knowledge gathered from experienced paraprofessionals and parents - are offered free to all parents who attend meetings.

                        2. Speakers on topics ranging from traditional therapies, integrated medical treatments, education, and legal support.

                        3. Mentoring support - offering one-on-one access to experienced families who have successfully navigated the challenges of finding appropriate treatments and educational opportunities for their children is also facilitated with oversight from TACA's National Headquarters.

Contributions to TACA Washington would help underwrite the costs associated with providing this vital resource to parents and children in need.

Thank you for your generous and meaningful contribution to TACA Washington.
