Join more than 1,000 other animal advocates and their four-legged friends for Washington's biggest dog walk -- the 18th annual Dog-A-Thon! Held at Fort Steilacoom Park in Lakewood, this fun, family event has something for everyone: A one-mile stroll or a four-mile hike, dozens of pet-related booths, demonstrations, contests, entertainment, a barbeque, and much more! Best of all, the walk benefits homeless animals at the Humane Society. Last year, the Dog-A-Thon netted $120,000 for our furry friends, and we need your help to raise even more in 2008!
Start by creating your own personalized web page, right here. Let your friends know why you care about animals, add a photo, and send a link to everyone you know. It's the fun, effortless way to support homeless pets!
YOU HELP SAVE LIVES
Last year, 9,430 shelter animals found loving, permanent homes, or were reunited with their owners. More than 1,600 orphaned, ill, or unsocialized pets were fostered until they were ready for adoption, 657 were placed through other rescue groups, and more than 1,000 found homes through PetSmart or other off-site venues.
In addition, the Humane Society funded 2,961 spay/neuter surgeries for pets belonging to low-income Pierce County residents, preventing untold litters and saving countless lives.
Your support funds these life-saving programs. It also provides medical care, food, shelter, bathing supplies, and many other essentials for shelter pets. We couldn't do it without you!
Thank you for helping animals and giving the most vulnerable among us a second chance at life.
See you at the Dog-A-Thon!
