| My personal message: |
Thank You for Visiting My Fundraising Page!
"You all have really made my life worth holding onto and not giving up. Please don’t ever give up doing what you do because you truly saved my life..."
Its messages like these to the incredibly hard working staff and volunteer advocates at Monadnock Center for Violence Prevention that motivate me to be part of this great organization. I am organizing and walking in the 2nd Annual Walk a Mile in Her Shoes, The Men's March to Stop Rape, Sexual Assault and Gender Violence on April 12 in Keene, New Hampshire. Men will be out in front wearing women's shoes (me too!), followed by women and children, to show support for survivors of sexual violence and to raise funds for the Monadnock Center for Violence Prevention (MCVP)
I am thrilled to help organize this in my official capacity as Development Director at MCVP, but it is much more than that for me. As a husband, father of two young daughters, and uncle to five nieces. I am committed to helping create a world that minimizes physical and emotional violence directed against anyone. Most women that I have known well in my life have experienced some form of physical and/or emotional violence which has deeply colored their relationships with the world at large, with me and other men. It is up to all of us to create and leave behind a different and gentler world.
Many thanks for your support -- if you are local please join us on the walk on April 12-- Register at www.firstgiving.com/MCVP. And please don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
