"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed, citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has". --Margaret Mead
Thank you for visiting my Personal Fundraising Page. I will be walking Saturday, September 27th to raise money for Farm Sanctuary. www.FarmSanctuary.org
I know none of you would ever want to see any animal needlessly harmed or mistreated, even if they are to be for food. We expect a humane treatment of these creatures until their end, so please help me help the sanctuary who have so courageously put their lives on the line to rescue these animals who have been severly abused, neglected and or left to die slowly by those in the factory farms industry. Farm Sanctuary is also very active in getting legislation passed to make animal cruelty laws extend to farm animals, not just pets. Now because of Farm Sanctuary many of these animals who were lucky to be rescued by them will get a second chance to live out the rest of their lives in peace.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to make a contribution to our fundraising efforts. Many thanks for your support-- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
Thank you again, Maryanne
"If you visit the killing floor of a slaughterhouse, it will brand your soul for life." -- Howard Lyman
"The United States Department of Agriculture (U.S.D.A.) explicitly allows diseased animals to be slaughtered and used for human food. It has taken a “don’t look, don’t find” approach when it comes to potential human health hazardous. Amazingly, the Agency has even gone to court to fight to prevent animals from being tested for disease! And they recently won a case to prevent a slaughterhouse from testing cows for mad cow disease. Why would the U.S.D.A. and other agribusinesses work so hard to prevent animals from being tested for disease? I think they’re afraid of what they’d find." -- Gene Baur
Farm Sanctuary
We started out by visiting farms, stockyards and slaughterhouses to document conditions, and we found animals literally left for dead. Hilda, a sheep found on a pile of dead animals behind Lancaster Stockyards, was the first animal to be rescued by Farm Sanctuary. She lived with us for more than a decade, and died of old age.
Through the years, we have rescued thousands of animals, and educated millions of people about their plight. People are shocked to learn about the intolerable conditions that are commonplace on today's industrialized farms.
