Thank you for visiting Nicole’s Buddy Walk website. We have participated in this event since Nicole was less than a year old! The Buddy Walk raises money to support local needs for kids with Down syndrome and their families. It also supports research at the National levels. We are excited to be able to participate in this event!
Nicole is God’s special gift to us and we are so very proud of her and who she is!! She is such a blessing to our family and everyone she meets! She is full of love for everyone but has a special love for babies and animals! Nicole is 9 years old and in the 2nd grade at her school. She is in a full inclusion classroom and is doing very well! She has lots of friends!! In her spare time, Nicole loves to ride horses. She rides at Harmony Farms which provides therapeutic riding lessons. She even rode in the Equestrian Special Olympics and had a ball! She also takes gymnastics which she thoroughly enjoys!
The Buddy Walk pays for both Nicole’s horseback riding and her gymnastics class. They also helped pay for her swimming lessons this past summer. They have helped us, and many families in our immediate area pay for activities which the children might not be able to participate in otherwise. The funds from the Buddy Walk also go to the National Down Syndrome Assoc.for research and studies at the national levels.
