Across the U.S., more than 89% of children who depend on federal food programs for free and reduced-price lunches during the school year go without nutritious lunches during the summer - that's 14 million children. "Under-nutrition, along with environmental factors associated with poverty, can permanently retard a child's physical growth, brain development, and cognitive functioning.*" To help alleviate this problem, we established Feeding Our Future in 1997. This program prepares nutritious meals for under-nourished children that would otherwise go hungry during the summer months
