Thank you for visiting my 2009 Walk for Farm Animals fundraising page!
I'm participating in the Walk for Farm Animals to help Farm Sanctuary raise awareness about the realities of factory farming. The annual Walk for Farm Animals helps fund Farm Sanctuary's education and advocacy efforts.
Recently, I had the opportunity to visit the Farm Sanctuary in New York. My visit brought to life for me all the reasons I went vegan and all the reasons I hope to someday rescue animals myself. I'd never seen a full-grown cow that close before...I had no idea they'd be taller than me! Yet when I pet Snickers, who towered over most of the group, he looked at me with soft and gentle eyes and happily poked his nose toward our hands for more when we stopped petting him. The ducks and geese were having quite a time in the puddles, and the turkeys almost looked as if they were smiling as they sat near the fan, enjoying the breeze.
Organizations like Farm Sanctuary are helping to educate and encourage change each and every day. Such organizations helped me learn the realities of meat, dairy and egg production, and make the transition to a plant-based diet. Becoming vegan has opened my eyes to a new world, one based on compassion, healthful eating and peace. I feel a lightness and energy I never had before, and have been inspired to act on these feelings, that I may share the same elation with others.
I am walking for Farm Sanctuary because they are part of the thriving movement for change, because they have helped open the hearts of many, and because they have made a difference in the lives of hundreds of farm animals. I hope you will join me in supporting this wonderful organization and in turn, supporting the chickens, pigs, cows, and other animals who will never have to endure another day of torture and fear.
Thank you for visiting my page and for supporting the animals with your donation!
